
The SGBA 2008 Summer Camp will take place at Camp Michindoh in Hillsdale, Michigan from July 14th through the 18th. This year the maximum number allowed for the camp has been reduced so get your reservations in early. Early reservations require a non-refundable deposit of $50 postmarked by June 1st with a remaining balance of $150 due at registration. The fee for registration applications postmarked after June 1st will be $225. The SGBA Summer Camp is available to youth entering Grades 4- 12. The Summer Camp program has been designed to introduce young people to the principles for Christian living through the Lord Jesus Christ and present a Biblically balanced program of spiritual, physical, and social activities.

The SGBA 2008 Annual Family Conference will take place at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Otisville, Michigan from July 14th through the 17th. Our speaker this year will be Dr. Jim Grier who will be addressing the topic: “Growing Christ’s Church God’s Way”.

Monday, July 14th at 8:00 PM - Session 1: Our Times and Culture: Understanding Postmodernism
Tuesday, July 15th at 7:00 PM - Session 2: Alternative Responses for Missional Ministry
Wednesday, July 16th at 7:00 PM - Session 3: Glory, Presence and Worship: for Growing the Church
Thursday, July 17th at 11AM - Session 4: Missional Ministry in a Postmodern Context
Expected Outcomes in the Attendees:
- Know and understand postmodernism and its implications for ministry.
- Know and understand how to present the gospel in a postmodern context
- Apply principles of narrative preaching in handling text
- Develop a canonical worldview
- Evaluate the tenets and goals of the Emergent Church Movement
- Place a high value on gospel preaching in the present context
- Significant increment in affection for Christ and His church
