Ada Pathway Church is a congregation of believers dedicated to the task of serving the Lord in the context of truth. Our worship is God-centered, and our preaching and teaching is expositional in nature. We have a number of ministries for our members to be involved in, and we seek to cultivate a community of fellowship that is honoring to God
and edifying to each other. Ada Pathway is a caring family of faith, concerned for the needs of others. If you have the opportunity to visit us, we trust you'll find a friendly welcome!

Church History:
Ada Pathway Church began as Thornwood Baptist
Church and was organized in 1969, with Bob Nelson
as the founding pastor. Pastor Nelson served the
church until early 1980. Following the pastorates
of Michael Meyers and Barry McKinney, Tim Terhune
was called to be the pastor in late 1983. Pastor
Terhune served the church until early 1991, after
which the church called Pastor Norman Street in
late 1992. Pastor Street served the church for
nearly 11 years, retiring from the ministry in
August, 2003.
In 1990, the Thornwood Ladies Ministry was formed
with the desire, among other things, to sponsor and
coordinate an annual ladies' spring retreat as a
ministry under the oversight of Thornwood Baptist
Church. The purposes of the retreat are to study
God's Word, to promote fellowship between women and
churches of like faith, to support the Sovereign
Grace Baptist Association, and to provide a forum
for women of like faith to exercise their gifts.
In May of 1991, the church also voted to be the
sending church for Vijay and Narsamma Chandra as
missionaries to Fiji. For nearly 15 years, the
Chandras have been faithfully ministering God's
Word on that island, with the result that now a
strong, growing and healthy church has been
established under Pastor Chandra's leadership.
In July of 2001, the church voted to call Don
Michael as Associate Pastor. Upon Pastor Street's
retirement, the congregation called Don as the
Pastor of Thornwood Baptist Church in November of
2003.
